The company Luxemburger Orgelbau is an organ company in Lintgen . The company is also run under the French name Manufacture d'orgues luxembourgeoise . It is also known by the names of its owners Georges Haupt , Nicolas Loewen and Georg Westenfelder .

history

In 1924, an organ building workshop was founded in Lintgen, Luxembourg, as a branch of the organ building firm Georg Stahlhuth & Co from Aachen , which was run by the organ builder Georges Haupt, who was employed by Stahlhuth. In November 1932 the company in Lintgen became an independent company, which in the following years set up numerous instruments in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

After the death of Georges Haupt in 1952, the company was continued by his widow Jeanne Haupt-Weber and his two nephews Hermann Haupt and Karl Haupt until bankruptcy had to be declared in 1962. The company was re-established in 1963 by employees Nicolas Loewen, Herbert Schmidt and August Mreches. In 1970 the employee Georg Westenfelder took over the company and officially renamed it in his name from 1979. By taking over the West Felder's reintroduction of mechanical began grinding charge . Furthermore, organs have been delivered to Austria again and again for several years. Since 2011 the company of Luxemburg organ builders has been continued by Andreas Westenfelder.
