The 2009 Pilot Pen Tennis was the 12th edition of the women's tennis tournament in New Haven , Connecticut . The hard court tournament in the Premier category took place as part of the WTA Tour 2009 from August 24th to 30th, as the fifth competition of the US Open Series , the preparatory series for the US Open .

The defending champions were Caroline Wozniacki in singles and Květa Peschke and Lisa Raymond in doubles.

Caroline Wozniacki won the singles final against Jelena Wesnina 6: 2, 6: 4. In a double final defeated Nuria Llagostera Vives and Maria José Martínez Sánchez pairing Iveta Benešová / Lucie Hradecká with 6: 2, 7:. 5
