history
A first documentary mention comes from 1440, when the place was called Kyszekas and belonged to the Arad district . Marsigli mentioned the place in his writings from 1690-1700, which indicates that it was inhabited during the Turkish period.
At the time of the Josephine land survey of 1717, the place was called Sekasch , had 7 houses and belonged to the Lipova district . After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718), when the Banat became a Habsburg crown domain , Sekasch was part of the Temescher Banat .
On June 4, 1920, the Banat was divided into three parts as a result of the Treaty of Trianon . The largest, eastern part, to which Secaș also belongs, fell to the Kingdom of Romania . In the interwar period Secaş belonged to the Lipova chair district, Timiş-Torontal district. After the Second World War, the place became increasingly depopulated as a result of the migration to the surrounding industrial centers.
