Stefan Ilsanker (born May 18, 1989 in Hallein ) is an Austrian football player . The defensive midfielder is under contract with German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and is a national team player . He is the son of former goalkeeper Herbert Ilsanker .
Career
youth
Ilsanker began playing football in 1996 in his place of birth at the now defunct 1. Halleiner SK . From 1998 he was the goalkeeper of the youth department of the then German second division club 1. FSV Mainz 05 when his father was working there as a professional. In 2001 Ilsanker came back to Hallein and played for his home club again, but soon switched to the youth department of Austria Salzburg on a cooperation basis . This meant that at that time Ilsanker was registered with the 1st Halleiner SK for around two to three months every year and only then went to the violets in the state capital Salzburg . After the Hallein SK had merged with the SK Olympia 1948 Hallein to FC Hallein 04 after the 2003/04 season , Ilsanker switched to this. However, the cooperation with SV Austria Salzburg continued.
When Salzburger Austria was reconstituted as FC Red Bull Salzburg in 2005 , Ilsanker switched to its junior division. It was only during this time, at the age of 15, that he switched from goal to the field after helping out as a field player with a shoulder injury in training. His youth coach recognized the talent and persuaded him to try it in defensive midfield. In the youth teams of Red Bull Salzburg he was mostly used in the youth leagues, his last station being the U19 youth league, for which he played his last game in a 90-minute assignment in the 2007/08 season. This game should remain the only one in the U19 league for Ilsanker this season.
Club career
