Valserhône is a French municipality with 16,423 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantua and the canton of Bellegarde-sur-Valserine .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by merging the previous municipalities of Bellegarde-sur-Valserine , Châtillon-en-Michaille and Lancrans . Since then, these have been Communes déléguées . The administrative center is located in Bellegarde-sur-Valserine.

geography
The municipality is located around 34 kilometers northeast of Annecy on the right bank of the Rhône and its tributary Valserine . Parts of the municipality belong to the Upper Jura Regional Nature Park . The A40 motorway crosses the municipality to the west . The Bellegarde-Vouvray Aerodrome is also located here . Neighboring communities are:
- Montanges and Confort in the north,
- Collonges in the northeast,
- Léaz in the east,
- Éloise and Saint-Germain-sur-Rhône in the southeast,
- Billiat and Villes in the south,
- Le Grand-Abergement in the southwest,
- Le Poizat-Lalleyriat to the west and
- Saint-Germain-de-Joux to the northwest.
