Valserhône is a French municipality with 16,423 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantua and the canton of Bellegarde-sur-Valserine .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by merging the previous municipalities of Bellegarde-sur-Valserine , Châtillon-en-Michaille and Lancrans . Since then, these have been Communes déléguées . The administrative center is located in Bellegarde-sur-Valserine.

The municipality is located around 34 kilometers northeast of Annecy on the right bank of the Rhône and its tributary Valserine . Parts of the municipality belong to the Upper Jura Regional Nature Park . The A40 motorway crosses the municipality to the west . The Bellegarde-Vouvray Aerodrome is also located here .
