This trough is drained by the Borrey to the north to the Oignin . In the east this depression is bounded by the anticline of the Crêt de Châtillon (up to 950 m ). To the west, the community area extends to the ridge of the Chaîne de l'Avocat , on which the highest elevation of Izenave is reached at 1008 m . The extreme west of the municipality is located in the deeply cut valley of the Bief de la Fouge .
The hamlet of Brouillat ( 669 m ) in the valley level of the Combe du Val and some individual farms belong to Izenave . Neighboring communities of Izenave are Cerdon and Vieu-d'Izenave in the north, Lantenay and Champdor-Corcelles with Corcelles in the east, Aranc in the south and Corlier in the west.
