About this picture

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is an Upper Bavarian municipality in the district of Munich . The double town of the same name is both the main town and the seat of the municipal administration.

geography

location

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is located in the Munich district, 17 kilometers south-east of Munich , in the so-called gravel plain. The municipality borders on the district communities of Aying, Brunnthal and Hohenbrunn. As with other settlements in the Munich gravel plain , the almost circular forest belt around Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is not the remnant of a cleared island , but was created later through reforestation. This forest belt, located outside of agricultural areas, is mainly formed in the east by the Höhenkirchen forest. Here is also the border to the Ebersberg district.

The municipality consists of the districts Höhenkirchen and Siegertsbrunn. The Höhenkirchner forest to the east was still an Ausmärkisches area until 2010 and not assigned to any municipality. The surrounding municipalities of Aying, Hohenbrunn, Grasbrunn and Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn had submitted coordinated applications for the incorporation of sub-areas between 2003 and 2009, which the government of Upper Bavaria complied with by ordinance of December 14, 2010 and effective January 1, 2011. As a result of the additional areas, the area of the Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn community increased by around nine square kilometers.

Community structure

The municipality has three officially named municipal parts (the type of settlement is indicated in brackets ):

  • Höhenkirchen ( Pfarrdorf ) (west of the former village of Siegertsbrunn)
  • Siegertsbrunn (Pfarrdorf) (east of the former village of Höhenkirchen)
  • Wächterhof ( wasteland with commercial area)

The settlement am Hart (at the Wächterhof train station) a little further north is not an officially named part of the municipality.

history

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Siegertsbrunn was incorporated into the municipality of Höhenkirchen as part of the municipal reform. In 1985 the name was changed to "Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn". Apart from place name suffixes such as B. Neukirchen bei Sulzbach-Rosenberg , this is one of the longest community names in Germany.

A certain independence of the districts of Höhenkirchen and Siegertsbrunn can still be seen today: There are two volunteer fire brigades, two maypoles, two war memorials, two warrior clubs, two boys' clubs and two tennis clubs. There are also two independent parishes, the Catholic parish of Mary's Birth in Höhenkirchen and the Catholic parish of St. Peter Siegertsbrunn.

The name Siegertsbrunn goes back to Sigihartasprunnin , for example the Sigihart fountain , with which drinking water was fetched from several meters below the Munich gravel plain. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Höhenkirchen was a well-known place for travelers, coachmen, etc. At the old Höhenkirchen Castle , which now houses a shoe shop, there was a rest area with a restaurant and thus served as a resting place for travelers and coachmen.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 6,094 to 10,872 by 4,778 inhabitants or 78.4%.

politics

mayor

The first joint mayor of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn was Wilhelm Reitmeier (CSU, 1972–1990, born 1921).

Mindy Konwitschny (SPD) has been First Mayor since 2020. On March 29, 2020 she prevailed against Roland Spingler (CSU) with 62.8% of the votes in the second ballot.

The second mayor is Luitgard Dittmann-Chylla (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen).

Municipal council

The council consists of twenty-four members and the first mayor since May 1, 2020th In the 2020–2026 legislative period, the CSU has seven, the SPD five, the Independent Citizens (UB) four, Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen six members and the General Free Voting Community Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn ( AFW ) two municipal council members.

coat of arms

Coat of arms of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn
Blazon : "Under a red shield head, inside a silver sloping bar covered with a black arrow, in silver a green fir tree with roots."

The fir indicates the emergence of Höhenkirchen as a high medieval clearing settlement in the forest area southeast of Munich. The Höhenkirchener Forest derives its name from the community. The sloping bar in the main shield, covered with an arrow, corresponds to the family coat of arms of the Schrenck zu Egmating family . In 1630, the castle owner Johann Heinrich Schrenck obtained Hofmark privileges for his estate in Höhenkirchen. This coat of arms was given to the old community of Höhenkirchen, and it has been in effect for Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn since the municipal reform .

As an independent municipality, Siegertsbrunn did not have its own coat of arms. There is, however, a representation of a draw well (Sigoho), which is still used today by the Siegertsbrunn Boys' Association (maypole and costume). However, it is not a sovereign coat of arms.

The fire brigade Siegertsbrunn uses the possibility granted by the state to use the small Bavarian state coat of arms (diamonds) in the coat of arms on the uniform instead of the municipal coat of arms. A coat of arms is completely missing on the fire engines of the FF Siegertsbrunn. The Höhenkirchen fire brigade has been using the sovereign coat of arms of the municipality since this symbol was laid down on all emergency vehicles and to identify its active emergency services in accordance with the identification ordinance for the fire brigades of the state of Bavaria.

Town twinning

Since June 2007, billboards at the town entrances have been evidence of these partnerships.

The high school is supposed to relieve the schools in Neubiberg and Ottobrunn. Hochtief AG took over the construction and operation of the school building in a public-private partnership . School operations began in the 2011/2012 school year - but not yet with a school family of their own : from 2011 to 2013, the pupils at the Neubiberg grammar school in Höhenkirchen were taught as their grammar school was completely renovated. From 2013 to 2015 the Ottobrunn grammar school was housed in the Höhenkirchen grammar school, also due to a general renovation of the main building. In order to make enough classrooms available, a temporary container building was also built. For the 2013/14 school year, the Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn high school started its own business under the direction of Claudia Gantke with a scientific-technological focus and a musical branch. In the 2017/2018 school year, the grammar school had around 850 students and 80 teachers as well as ten instrument teachers in 28 classes and the upper level.

Siegertsbrunn Leahats

St. Leonhard's Church

Every year on the Sunday after July 8th ( Kilian's Day ) in Siegertsbrunn in front of and in the St. Leonhard branch and pilgrimage church, the Leonhardifest - the so-called Leahats - is celebrated with a three-day fair, marquee operation, various cultural offers, and the actual pilgrimage day on Saturday and big Sunday. On Friday evening, after an ecumenical prayer, the festival opens with the tapping of the beer. This is also the day of the clubs. On Saturday evening, the Siegertsbrunner Burschenverein invites you to dance in the festival tent.

There is a separate Leonhardi committee (run like an association) and a store manager (Hans Loidl) for the Leonhardifest. The highlight is the triple ride around or the three times ride around on Leonhard Sunday. On this occasion, horse and rider, but also all who take part in the ride / drive around, are blessed. Usually the clergyman alternates between holy water, incense and the cross particle.

In the meantime, it is mainly local associations such as the boys' club with the girls or the ice and tennis club (ETC) Siegertsbrunn who design the floats. Kindergartens and other groups from Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn also take part in this ride / ride. Another big attraction are the model churches that were faithfully recreated by Franz Guggenberger senior and junior. These can be seen in the pictures below. In addition, other associations and organizations come from the surrounding communities to take part. The custom of praying during this time has almost completely been lost in Siegertsbrunn.
