history
middle Ages
Plüderhausen was first mentioned in 1142 as "Pliderhusen". The name is said to be derived from the Old High German blidheri , which roughly means "happy warrior". During the time of the Staufer, Plüderhausen was subordinate to the Staufer ministries based on the Elisabethenberg near Waldhausen. From 1246 the Counts of Württemberg ruled over the place, which from 1421 was subordinate to the Württemberg Bailiwick Schorndorf. The later district of Walkersbach was first mentioned in 1262, but is probably much older.
Early modern age
In 1519, Jörg Staufer, a member of the Swabian Federation , came from Göppingen and burned down the church of Plüderhausen and 80 houses during a campaign against Duke Ulrich von Württemberg . In the same year the church was rebuilt. The Reformation was introduced in Plüderhausen in 1536 . When Elector Johann von Sachsen initiated his retreat after defeats in the Schmalkaldic War in 1546 , he and his army stayed overnight in Plüderhausen from November 27th to 28th, which resulted in looting.
The cemetery, which is still in use today, was laid out in 1626. As a result of the Thirty Years' War , many plud houses died and many others fled, so that of the 1800 inhabitants at the start of the war, only 57 remained at the end of the war. Seven years later there were around 700 again.
In 1804 the St. Margaret Church was built in place of the church from 1519; The choir and tower were preserved. In 1805 Plüderhausen received market rights .
Royal time
With the implementation of the new administrative structure in the Kingdom of Württemberg, which was founded in 1806, Plüderhausen with its sub-office, which still existed until 1818, was separated from the Oberamt Schorndorf and in 1807 subordinated to the Oberamt Welzheim .
In the same year 1807, Walkersbach, about 5 kilometers to the northwest, became a district of Plüderhausen. The description of the Oberamt Welzheim from 1845 emphasizes the importance of fruit growing.
In 1861 the Cannstatt – Wasseralfingen section of the Remsbahn was inaugurated, giving Plüderhausen a connection to the route network of the Württemberg State Railways . In 1863, the baker Jakob Friedrich Schüle started the machine production of spaetzle and noodles, and thus founded the later egg pasta factory Schüle-Hohenlohe AG .
The palace garden school was built in 1907 and the new town hall in 1914.
Contemporary history
During the district reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg , Plüderhausen came to the Waiblingen district in 1938 .
Plüderhausen was not damaged by the Second World War , the place was handed over to the US Army on April 20, 1945 without a fight .
In 1945 the municipality became part of the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was incorporated into the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.
In 1953 the egg pasta factory Schüle-Hohenlohe AG, which had become the largest employer in the area, was shut down.
The first Plüderhaus festival took place in 1963.
In 1973 the district reform took place in Baden-Württemberg , when Plüderhausen became part of the Rems-Murr district .
