The Copa del Rey 1903 was the first officially recognized hosting of the Spanish soccer cup competition.
Three teams took part in the tournament, Athletic Bilbao , Club Español and Madrid FC . All three games took place in the Hipódromo de Madrid . The tournament took place from April 6th to 8th and ended with the last group match between Madrid FC and Athletic Bilbao. Bilbao won 3-2 and thus secured the Spanish Cup for the first time.

The three games were played in group mode, as Madrid FC and Athletic Bilbao each won their first game against Club Español , the last group game was virtually a final for the cup.
