The Copa del Rey 1983/84 was the 80th edition of the Spanish Football Cup .
The competition started on September 7, 1983 and ended with the final on May 5, 1984 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid . Athletic Bilbao won the title by beating defending champions FC Barcelona 1-0 in the final . Since the Basques qualified as champions of the Primera División for the European Cup, FC Barcelona received the starting place in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1984/85 .
First round
The first legs were played on September 7, 13, 14, 15, 19 and 21, the second legs on September 19, 21, 23, 27 and 28, 1983.
