The 1916 Copa del Rey was the 14th edition of the Spanish Football Cup.

The competition started on March 26th and ended with the final on May 7th, 1916 at Camp del Carrer Indústria in Barcelona . The defending champion of the cup competition was Athletic Bilbao . Athletic Bilbao won the title again with a 4-0 win in the final against Madrid FC .

Español FC and RC Fortuna Vigo did not take part in the competition. If the teams meeting in the semifinals were able to win one of the games, the goal difference was not used to determine the winner, but a play-off game was played.

Thanks to the clear 4-0 win over the former record winners Madrid FC, who reached the final for the first time since 1908 in 8 years, Athletic Bilbao won the Spanish Cup for the third time in a row, making the then second trophy in the possession of Athletic passed over.
