The 1997/98 Copa del Rey was the 94th edition of the Spanish Football Cup.
The competition started on September 3, 1997 and ended with the final on April 29, 1998 in the Estadio Mestalla ( Valencia ). The defending champion of the cup competition was FC Barcelona . The title was won again by FC Barcelona with a 5-4 win on penalties in the final against RCD Mallorca . Since the Catalans qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the 1997/98 season , RCD Mallorca took part in the 1998/99 European Cup Winners' Cup.
