The Copa del Generalísimo 1959/60 was the 56th edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .
The competition started on November 22, 1959 and ended with the final on June 26, 1960 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid . The defending champion of the cup competition was CF Barcelona . Atlético Madrid won the title with a 3-1 victory in the final against city rivals Real Madrid .
