Copa del Rey 2004/05

The 2005/06 Copa del Rey was the 102nd edition of the Spanish Football Cup.

The competition started on August 31, 2005 and ended with the final on April 12, 2006 in the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu ( Madrid ). The defending champion of the cup competition was Betis Sevilla . Espanyol Barcelona won the title by beating Real Zaragoza 4-1 in the final . This qualified the club for the 2006/07 UEFA Cup .

mode

The Copa del Rey is played in rounds. In the first three rounds, the game is played in only one game - in the event of a tie, a decision is sought with overtime or, if necessary, penalty shoot-outs. From the round of 16 onwards, the duels will be played back and forth. In the Copa del Rey, the same rules apply as in European club competitions: away goals count more than home goals. The final is played in one game, the winner is sought in the event of a tie through overtime or penalty shoot-out.
