The 1977/78 Copa del Rey was the 74th edition of the Spanish Football Cup .
The competition started on September 7, 1977 and ended with the final on April 19, 1978 in the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid . Defender of the Cup competition was Betis Sevilla . FC Barcelona won the title with a 3-1 win in the final against UD Las Palmas . This qualified the Catalans for the 1978/79 European Cup Winners' Cup .
First round
The first legs were played on September 7, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22, the second legs on September 20, 22, 27, 28 and 29 and on September 4, 5 . and October 19, 1977.
- Real Valladolid Promesas received a bye.
- ^ Atlético Ceuta decided not to take part in the competition.
Second round
The first legs were on October 19 and 25 and on November 1, 2, 3, 9 and 16, and the second legs on November 1, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 24, 1977 carried out.
- CD Getafe received a bye.
