The Copa del Rey 1905 was the third edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition.
The competition took place from April 16 to 20, 1905. With Madrid FC , Athletic Bilbao and San Sebastián Recreation Club , three teams took part in the 1905 Copa del Rey. The winner of the Catalan Championship , ultimately FC Barcelona , was also invited, but it was not finished in time.
After the two tournament games, Madrid FC was the cup winner, so the cup winner did not come from Bilbao for the first time .
Final group stage
The tournament was played in league mode, the games took place in the Tiro de Pichon in Madrid .
Madrid FC emerged victorious from the first two tournament games and was therefore already the cup winner regardless of the last game. As a result, the Athletic Bilbao team drove home before their last game against San Sebastián Recreation Club . The opponent from San Sebastián was then declared the winner of the last group game and thus vice-cup winner.
