The Copa del Generalísimo 1952/53 was the 49th edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .

The competition started on October 1, 1952 and ended with the final on June 21, 1953 in the Nuevo Estadio Chamartín in Madrid . The defending champion of the cup competition was CF Barcelona . CF Barcelona won the title for the third time in a row with a 2-1 win in the final against Atlético Bilbao .
