The Copa del Generalísimo 1947/48 was the 44th edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .

The competition started on September 14, 1947 and ended with the final on July 4, 1948 in the Nuevo Estadio Chamartín in Madrid . The defending champion of the cup competition was Real Madrid . Sevilla FC won the title with a 4-1 win in the final against Celta Vigo .

Vigo goalkeeper Francisco Simón was injured in Mariano Uceda's 2-1 opening goal and was replaced by midfielder Gabriel Alonso as substitutions were not allowed at the time.
