The Copa del Generalísimo 1946 was the 42nd edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .
The competition started on April 7th and ended with the final on June 9th, 1946 in the Estadi Montjuïc in Barcelona . The defending champion of the cup competition was Atlético Bilbao . Real Madrid won the title by beating Valencia CF 3-1 in the final .
