Gas is a French municipality with 792 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Chartres and the Canton of Épernon (until 2015: Canton Maintenon ). The inhabitants are called Gassiens .
geography
Gas is about 18 kilometers northeast of Chartres . Gas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Hanches in the north and northwest, Épernon in the northeast, Écrosnes in the east, Gallardon in the south and southeast, Bailleau-Armenonville in the south, Yermenonville in the southwest and Houx in the northwest.
