I know everything! is a German-language quiz program for Germany , Austria and Switzerland , moderated by Jörg Pilawa . In season 1, the broadcasts were recorded in the MMC studios in Cologne , and since season 2 in the Berlin Adlershof studio .
In Germany, viewers can simultaneously play in front of the television screens with the ARD Quiz app and thus also collect points. At the end of the program, ten times 50 euros will be drawn among those playing in front of the television screens.
Mode and rules
The goal is to win as a candidate in four rounds and win 100,000 euros. The quiz runs as a game by a single candidate against one of the four experts, then the audience (in the first episode Die 1000 ) and then the three quiz masters Günther Jauch ( Who Wants to be a Millionaire? ), Armin Assinger ( Die Millionenshow ) and Susanne Kunz ( 1 against 100 ) competes. This is followed by a final between all successful candidates in the first three rounds. There are no jokers.
Expert panel
In the first round, a candidate competes against one of four experts, each representing one area of knowledge. The categories as well as the experts vary from show to show. In each field of knowledge, the candidate competes against an expert in a direct duel. The questions in the round are presented as multiple-choice questions with three possible answers. Everyone can first change a logged-in answer. However, if one of the duelists presses the buzzer ( OK confirmation in the first episode ), with which he starts a countdown of seven seconds for the opponent, which he now has time to answer, he is no longer allowed to change his answer. The opponent may change his mind within the countdown, but does not know the other's answer. One point is awarded for the correct answer to the first question, two points for the second question and three points for the third question. If there is a tie after three questions, there is a key question (in the first episode, an estimation question ). Whoever answers these correctly after a quick buzz, wins; if the answer is wrong, this round is lost. If this does not succeed, the candidate is eliminated.
Audience round
In the second round, a candidate competes against the audience. In this round, the audience gives their decision on voting machines. The audience is divided into four groups based on age and gender ( women over 50, women under 50, men over 50 and men under 50 ). After the moderator has finished reading the question with three possible answers, the candidate and the audience have to answer the questions within seven seconds. Then the candidate may choose one of the four demographic groups against which his answer will be evaluated. The scoring remains the same. If there is a tie after three questions, an estimation question follows. In the case of an estimation question, the candidate and the audience have to enter or change their number within 15 seconds. After that, the candidate may choose one of the four groups against which his assessment will be evaluated. Whoever comes closest to their estimate wins. If this does not succeed, the candidate is eliminated.
Giant round
In the third round, the candidate and the three quiz masters ( The Giants ) have to answer the same questions one after the other. The candidate must compete alone against the quiz masters who are allowed to consult. In order not to notice the Quizmaster's solution, the candidate is put on headphones with "deafening" music and dark glasses. The scoring remains the same. If there is a tie after three questions, a key question follows and the candidate can choose one of the three quiz masters as an opponent. Whoever answers this question about faster buzzing correctly wins; if the answer is wrong, this round is lost. If this does not succeed, the candidate is eliminated.
Final round
Those who survive all three rounds will receive 3,000 euros and a medal and will then compete in the final. Five questions must be answered correctly. In season 1, the finalists entered simultaneously with the same questions and had three possible answers. Since the second season they have been competing one after the other with different questions in identical categories, for which no answer selection is given. If this does not succeed, the candidate is eliminated. If both or more candidates have answered all five questions correctly, a key question decides who will win the 100,000 euros. Whoever answers these correctly after a quick buzz, wins; if the answer is wrong, this round is lost.
