Jonathan Hirschi (born February 2, 1986 in Saint-Imier , Canton of Bern ) is a Swiss car racing driver.

Career

Jonathan Hirschi started motorsport in 2002 in the national kart championship. In the following years he competed in various races in national championships in Switzerland, France, Germany and Italy. In these championships he could win races or finish on the podium of the top three.

In 2007 he drove three races in the German Formula 3 Championship . Seventh place was his best result. In the overall ranking of the championship he was rated 15th.

After repeated good results in 2007 and 2008, Hirschi was runner-up in the European Megané Trophy in 2009 . He won three races that season, two at Spa and one in Barcelona .

In 2010, Hirschi contested the FIA GT1 World Championship with the Hexis Racing team in an Aston Martin DBR9 . The team secured the world title. Hirschi finished second at Silverstone as the best result and took two pole positions. With 62 points, he finished twelfth in the world championship.
In the French Porsche Carrera Cup, Hirschi finished on the top three podium three times in the same year.

At the Le Mans 24-hour race in 2011 he started in the LM GTE PRO class with a Lotus Evora GTE from the Lotus Jetalliance team. In the final ranking he finished 22nd and seventh in his class.

At the same time, Hirschi competed in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), the Blancpain Endurance Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2012 and 2013.

Another passion of Jonathan Hirschi is rallying . In the European Rally Championship (ERC), he finished sixth at the 2012 Rallye International du Valais . A fourth place followed in the same rally in 2014. In 2012 and 2014 he started in the World Rally Championship in the WRC2 and WRC classes . Until then, he has not achieved any notable success. In 2015, further rallies are planned in WRC2. At the Monte Carlo Rally he finished 19th overall and fifth in the WRC2 class .
