Maifeld Derby is a music festival in Mannheim that has been held annually at the Mannheim Maimarkt racecourse since 2011 . Since the 3rd edition in 2013, the festival has been three days. The festival is organized by Timo Kumpf, who is also known as the bass player for Get Well Soon .
history
At the 4th Maifeld Derby (2014), the number of visitors exceeded 10,000 for the first time. This means that the number of visitors has more than tripled since the first festival three years ago.
Maifeld Derby was voted the second best festival in Germany by readers of the intro in 2016 and was named the festival with the best line-up in Germany by Musikexpress .
In 2017 Maifeld Derby took place for the 7th time with a new record number of 15,000 visitors. The program was spread over four stages:
- Palace tent, big circus tent
- Torch stage , large open air stage
- Parcours d'amour , smaller stage in the stands of the equestrian stadium
- Bridge award tent , small circus tent
Numerous performances were filmed and broadcast live by ARTE Concert in 2017 . The festival took place for the last time in 2019, in 2020 there will definitely be no edition.
