The McIntosh County is a county in the state of North Dakota of the United States . The county seat is Ashley .

The county is located in southern North Dakota, bordering South Dakota, and has an area of ​​2577 square kilometers, of which 51 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Logan County , LaMoure County , Dickey County , McPherson County, South Dakota, Campbell County, South Dakota, and Emmons County .

history

McIntosh County was formed on March 9, 1883, and finally organized on October 4, 1884. It was named after Edward H. McIntosh , a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Dakota Territory .

Eight structures and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of March 28, 2018).
