Okres Plzeň-jih , German district of Pilsen-Süd , is a district in the Czech Republic and is located in Plzeňský kraj .

The Okres Plzeň-jih is 990 km² and has 58,000 inhabitants in 90 municipalities. It was created in 1960 by merging the Blovice district with seven other sub-districts. The district does not have its own district town; the administrative seat is in Plzeň . There are five microregions in the area: Nepomucko, Přešticko, Radbuza, Radyně and Úslava.

There are hardly any raw materials in the district. The important industries include food manufacturers, ceramics, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. In agriculture, grain, potatoes and beets are grown and cattle, pigs and poultry are raised. The unemployment rate is 4.9%.

The area attracts tourists due to its low environmental impact and its village character. Particularly worth seeing are:

Every year around 22,000 guests (30% foreigners) visit Pilsen-Süd. The average length of stay is 4.2 days.

On January 1, 2007, the town of Starý Plzenec and the municipalities of Chválenice , Letkov , Lhůta , Losiná , Mokrouše , Nezbavětice , Nezvěstice , Šťáhlavy , Štěnovický Borek and Tymákov in the Okres Plzeň-město . Borovy and Nezdice from Okres Klatovy were added to the district .
