Municipality and district

According to Georgian law, which is ineffective in Abkhazia, the area within the borders from 1994 has been the municipality of Gali (Georgian გალის მუნიციპალიტეტი , Galis munizipaliteti ) of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia since 2006 . It corresponds to the Gali Rajon plus the areas around eight villages added to the newly created Tkuartschal Rajon in 1994 by the Abkhaz authorities and around three villages given to the Otschamtschira Rajon in 1995 . According to Abkhazian law, which is effective in Abkhazia, the Gali Rajon is administered by a de facto district administration in the city of Gali (3). This is located at Confederation Street 2 (Russian Uliza Konfederatov No. 2) in Gali next to the city's post office. The administration has been headed since 2014 by Temur Khukhudowitsch Nadaraia, who, by presidential decree of the de facto President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba, has been in charge of business there from November 14, 2014.
