The Rock County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 , the county had 160,331 residents and a population density of 85.9 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Janesville , named after Henry F. Janes, who was the first to provide a regular ferry service here.

The county is located in southern Wisconsin and the Rock River flows through it. Rock County borders Illinois and has an area of 1,881 square kilometers, of which 15 square kilometers are water. It borders on the following counties:

Rock County was formed in 1836 as the original county from parts of the Wisconsin Territory. It was named after the Rock River.

According to the 2010 census , Dane County had 160,331 people in 62,745 households. The population density was 85.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.5 people lived in each of the 62,745 households.
