The Sputnik Springbreak ( spelling : SPUTNIK SPRING BREAK ) is an annual music festival that takes place on the Pouch peninsula near Bitterfeld ( Saxony-Anhalt ). It is presented by the radio station MDR Sputnik and emerged in 2008 from the Sputnik Turntable Days festival . The festival takes up elements of the party culture of spring break .

General

The festival is organized by the Thuringian event agency Black Mamba Event & Marketing . The performing artists belong in the broadest sense to the electronica and rock genre. The Springbreak is one of the first festivals of the festival season and takes place on the weekend of Pentecost. In 2012 around 17,000 visitors came, in 2017 the previous visitor record was surpassed by an additional 10,000 visitors.
