controversy
On September 18, 2014, the West Indian players association WIPA and the West Indies Cricket Board , which is responsible for cricket in the West Indies, signed a new contract regulating the payment of players. On October 7th, a letter was reported from West Indian player Dwayne Bravo to the players' association, in which he rejected the new agreement on behalf of the team and threatened to strike. After the first two ODIs were played, he sent a letter to the association four days later, demanding that the contract with the players' association not remain in force. In the following days there was a dispute between those involved. When no agreement was reached, it was announced during the fourth ODI that the WICB was withdrawing the team for the rest of the tour. The Indian association BCCI initially threatened the WICB with claims for compensation for the canceled tour. However, it was decided to claim only part of the losses by legal means and instead to impose an embargo on further tours with West Indian participation. Instead of the remaining test series, Sri Lanka preferred a tour from 2015 and India agreed to hold a tour in Sri Lanka a year later. It was the first tour that was canceled under the current ICC Future Tours Program and a change in the rules in this regard in January 2014 allows India to forego further tours in the West Indies for an indefinite period of time.
