The person was a German television series, in which Günter Gaus celebrities, especially politicians interviewed . In 1963 the first program was broadcast with Ludwig Erhard as a conversation partner. From 1967 the series was continued under the title To Protocol in Südwestfunk and from 1984 with the title Deutsche in WDR . In 1990 she received the title Zur Person again at the DFF , which she kept from now on. From 1992 to 2003, the series was broadcast on the ORB , which went up in 2003 on the RBB , during this time the interviews were also broadcast in the News & Stories window program on Sat.1 . Over 200 interviews have been conducted in 40 years.
The interviews are usually conducted in the studio against a black background. Günter Gaus can only be seen at the beginning of the program while introducing the interviewee; thereafter, the interview partner is shown from different camera angles throughout the broadcast. In more recent programs, Gaus and his interlocutor sit on Marcel Breuer's Wassily armchairs . One of the rituals of the show is the sentence "Allow me one last question" by Gaus, after which the end credits follow without any further farewell .
