The Bella Twins (born on November 21, 1983) are a female professional wrestling tag team consisting of twin sisters Brie Bella (Brianna Garcia) and Nicole Bella (Nicole Garcia). They are currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment on its SmackDown brand, as well as training in its developmental facility Florida Championship Wrestling.
Early career
Brianna and Nicole were born in San Diego, California and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. They played soccer up until college and that is when they started modeling, acting, and doing promotional work. They have appeared at various trade shows across the country and been featured in several international magazines.[citation needed] They made their first national TV appearance on the Fox reality show Meet My Folks. Following this appearance, Brianna and Nicole were hired to be the World Cup Twins for Budweiser and were photographed holding the world cup trophy. They then participated in the 2006 "International Body Doubles twins search".[2]
World Wrestling Entertainment
Florida Championship Wrestling
During the summer of 2007, they were signed to developmental contracts by WWE and assigned them to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in Tampa, Florida. On September 15, 2007 the twins debuted in FCW, dubbed as The Bella Twins. In FCW, they had a series of tag team matches against Nattie Neidhart and Victoria Crawford. As a part of their on-screen character personas, if one of them is hurt, they switch places behind referee's back.[3] Starting in December 2007, they began managing Derrick Linkin,[3] but this storyline was cut short when Linkin was released in January 2008. They then participated in both singles and tag team matches feuding with fellow FCW divas Victoria Crawford, Daisy, Miss Angela and Roucka.
SmackDown
On the August 29 edition of SmackDown, Brianna debuted as Brie Bella and defeated Victoria. Towards the end of the match, Brie went under the ring and apparently switched with her twin. Brie continued to go under the ring during her matches in the following few weeks, winning her matches right after.
