HEC Montréal ( École des Hautes Études commerciales ) is Canada's oldest business school . It is the first North American university to hold the three accreditations AACSB , EQUIS and AMBA . The HEC is affiliated with the University of Montreal .

history

HEC Montréal was founded in 1907 by the Montréal Chamber of Commerce . In 2007 their 100th anniversary was celebrated. The university has 50 research centers with 22 chairs. There are currently over 12,000 students enrolled in the 33 business programs.

courses

The HEC Montreal is internationally oriented and has an international exchange program with over 100 universities in 34 countries, including ESCP Europe , HEC Paris , Luigi Bocconi University of Economics and the University of Warwick . The university maintains partnerships in Germany with the University of Mannheim , WHU , the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the EBS University of Economics and Law (EBS). HEC Montréal has a trading room with real-time data from Reuters, E-Signal and Bloomberg, which the Montreal Stock Exchange serves as an alternative space.

The language of instruction is French, the MBA is offered in French and English. There is also a selective trilingual Bachelor's degree in Business at HEC Montreal, which is taught in French, Spanish and English.

Rankings

Until 2008, the HEC Montréal was listed by BusinessWeek as one of the ten best international business schools, but in the latest ranking it loses this position. Furthermore, the MBA offered by HEC Montréal is listed in Forbes' Business Schools ranking and “America Economia” among the top 20 MBA programs outside the USA. The Wallstreet Journal and the Economist also list HEC Montréal as one of the best business schools worldwide. However, the university is not mentioned in the Top 100 of the "Financial Times". HEC Montréal is part of the Canadian MBA group of nine Canadian business schools.
