Atzenhofen (colloquially: Heʲfm ) is a district of the town of Leutershausen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .
geography
The hamlet is located on the Röttenbach, a right tributary of the Erlbacher Bach, which forms the Great Aurachbach with other brooks. This is a right tributary of the Altmühl . Approx. The Schmiedsholz lies 0.5 km south-east , and the Eichelberg and Waltersberg ( 507 m above sea level ) rise about 1 km south in the Aurach Forest .
The district road AN 3 leads to Büchelberg (2 km northeast) or to Weinberg (3 km south). A community road leads to Röttenbach (0.2 km northwest).
history
The hamlet was first mentioned by name in 1452 as "zum Atzenhoff bey Rötembach". The meaning of the place name remains unclear: Atzo may have been the personal name of the founder, but it is just as conceivable that the name is derived from the Upper German name Atz for pasture place. Atzenhofen was also just called "Höfen".
Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , the place belonged to the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Leutershausen . The office not only exercised the highest jurisdiction, but also the village and community rule. As a manorial estate , the three subjects belonged to the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste office in Colmberg (a Köblergut) and to the Brandenburg-Ansbach council (a half-yard of the Johannis care and a Köblergut of the land care ). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .
As part of the community edict, Atzenhofen was assigned to the Büchelberg tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Büchelberg, founded in 1810 . On July 1, 1972 Atzenhofen was incorporated into the city of Leutershausen as part of the regional reform .
