Châtenay is in the north of the Beauce countryside , 29 kilometers east-southeast of Chartres and about 60 kilometers southeast of Paris . Châtenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vierville in the north, Orlu in the northeast, Ardelu in the east, Baudreville in the south and southeast, Gouillons in the west and southwest and Léthuin in the northwest.
