The Cupa României in the 1999/2000 season was the 62nd tournament for the Romanian Football Cup . The winner for the eighth time was Dinamo Bucharest , which was able to prevail in the final on May 13, 2000 against Universitatea Craiova . As Dinamo won the championship , Uni Craiova qualified for the UEFA Cup . Defending champion Steaua Bucharest had already been eliminated in the round of 16.

The clubs of Divizia A only started in the round of the last 32 teams. In the eighth and quarter-finals, all games took place on a neutral seat. Only one game was played at a time, the semi-finals were decided in the first and second leg. If only one game took place and it was tied after 90 minutes or if no decision could be made in both games taking into account the away goals rule , an extension of 30 minutes followed. If after that there was still no decision, the decision was made on penalties .
