Home on the Range is an American animated film of directors Will Finn and John Sanford in 2004. It is the 45th Disney animated feature film. At the time, it was planned that it would be the last hand-drawn film to be made by Walt Disney Studios . At the beginning of 2007 the decision was made to return to traditional 2D animation. Kiss the Frog is the return of the hand-drawn films from the Walt Disney studios.
action
Maggie, an award-winning show cow, loses her farm. She is taken to an old lady's farm, Pearl, where she is to live from now on. There is peace and harmony on the farm, Patch of Heaven . There Maggie meets Mrs. Caloway, an over correct and decent cow, and Grace, who welcomes Maggie to her farm with her cheerful manner. Pearl, the friendly old owner of the farm, keeps her animals with love, kindness and respect. She is a few months behind on her mortgage payment and threatens to lose her farm in a foreclosure sale. The Sheriff Sam sets Pearl near one of their cows to sell to keep the farm, but more of that Pearl will not even begin to hear something. Maggie comes up with a plan of her own to save the farm. The farm's debt is $ 750 . This happens to be the exact amount of the bounty for the unscrupulous cattle thief Alameda Slim, who is responsible for what happened to Maggie's old farm. Maggie works out a plan to capture Slim, collect the money, and save the farm. Of course, that's easier said than done. Because on the one hand they have to compete with Rico, the best bounty hunter in the area, and on top of that, if they manage to get the dangerous route behind them faster than Rico, they still have to arrest the crook with their own hands. Maggie, Grace and the moody Mrs. Caloway set out to catch the notorious villain Alameda Slim and thus save their good old farm.
synchronization
The German dubbing of the film was commissioned by FFS Film- & Fernseh-Synchron GmbH in Munich . Andreas Pollak wrote the dialogue book and Frank Lenart directed the dialogue and translated the lyrics into German. Thomas Amper took over the musical direction .

Background information
Even before the film was released, the Disney Company declared this film to be their last classically animated cartoon. Some small computer animations were regularly used in old Disney films, but Disney announced that it would now focus exclusively on fully computer-animated films (such as the follow-up to The Cows on the Loose , Heaven and Chicken ) and to close most of the animation studios. After the takeover of Pixar Animation Studios in early 2006, however, John Lasseter and Ed Catmull decided to revive traditional animated films and to announce a new feature film of this type, Kiss the Frog .
The pre-production of the film began after Pocahontas in 1995 in the cinemas started. In August 2000, the film was initially reported under the title "Sweating Bullets" (in German "Schwitzende Geschosse"); the publication was scheduled for autumn 2003. Up until the summer of 2001 no pictures of the film had appeared, but then a logo (still with the old title) and a screenshot appeared . More pictures were published over the next few months. In April 2002 it was decided to rename the film "Home on the Range" (in German "Daheim auf den Weidegründen" or "Daheim auf dem wide country"), based on the song of the same name , a classic of Western music . The film got its new logo in the fall of 2002.

Reviews
“For the latest, cocky cartoon masterpiece from the studio, the best creative minds and draftsmen in the animation industry let their imaginations do somersaults. The result is a real gag fireworks display - a wild adventure with leisurely, adorable-quirky characters. The cows are on the loose! is a winking, loving and disrespectful bow to a classic cinema genre - the western. With exuberant action, lively comedy, a unique style and six rousing new songs [...] the cows are loose! Conquer the hearts of big and small fans. And in full gallop! "
“Conventional animated film for children with moderately exciting musical numbers, clichéd characters and predictable twists and turns. The last 'hand-made' cartoon from the Disney studio is particularly disappointing with its loveless and roughly drawn scenes and characters. "
