The 1954/55 season of the ice hockey league was the seventh season of the highest German ice hockey league . German champion was EV Füssen , who was able to win his third championship title in a row. The newcomer Mannheimer ERC had to relegate from the league , which was replaced by the Düsseldorfer EG . Since the runner-up in the promotion round, TEV Miesbach , did not play the relegation game, the penultimate SC Weßling was able to keep the class without a fight.

As in the previous year, the German champions were played in a single round, so that each club played a home and an away game against the other teams. The last placed rose at the end of the season directly from the league and was replaced by the first of the promotion round, while the penultimate of the league in the relegation against the second placed in the promotion round had to defend his starting place in the top division.
