Alexander hero
Gerald Alexander Held (born October 19, 1958 in Munich ) is a German actor .
Life
Alexander Held was a solo singer with the Regensburger Domspatzen during his school days and a talented soccer player who won the youth championships five times with the soccer club TSV 1860 Munich .
He completed his acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Then Held started at the Munich Kammerspiele . Further engagements at the Staatsschauspiel Hannover , the Freie Volksbühne Berlin , the Theater Basel and the Salzburg Festival followed.
In 1993 Held was cast for a television film for the first time by director Klaus Emmerich in Morlock . Since then he has participated in numerous well-known cinema and TV productions, including B. Schindler's List by Steven Spielberg , Sophie Scholl - The Last Days by Marc Rothemund and The Downfall of Oliver Hirschbiegel .
Probably also due to the distinctive voice, the ability to give his characters a double-faced character, which quietly radiates a dangerous unpredictability, and his accurate, sharp pronunciation, Held embodied Nazi functionaries several times , as in Der Untergang . His best-known role is that of Gestapo officer Robert Mohr , who conducted the interrogations of Sophie Scholl . In Napola - Elite for the Führer , however, he was also seen as a Nazi opponent.
In the Sat.1 series Der Bulle von Tolz with Ottfried Fischer , he worked several times as a SPD - Bundestag with which usually has a disadvantage compared to his opponents from the "Bavarian Unity Party".
In 2007 he played alongside Iris Berben the greedy villain Heinrich von Strahlberg in the two-part TV series Africa, mon amour . In 2008 he was the opponent of the Brandner Kaspar Alois Kugler in the film of the same name by Joseph Vilsmaier . In 2009 he played the politically tactical Abbot Kuno in Margarethe von Trotta's film Vision - From the Life of Hildegard von Bingen alongside Barbara Sukowa , Heino Ferch and Hannah Herzsprung , and in the same year he was seen as Emperor Lothar I in Sönke Wortmann's Die Päpstin 2010 he played the character of the Chief Public Prosecutor Dr. Sasse next to Ulrich Tukur in Dieter Wedel's TV two-parter Gier . Since 2010 he has played chief inspector Karl Hidde in the Stralsund crime series . Since 2014 he has played the leading role of the chief inspector Ludwig Schaller in the crime series München Mord , who angered his boss with rather unconventional methods, but solved his cases.
His father was the actor José Held, who died in 1974. He was married in December 2005 to actress Patricia Countess Fugger von Babenhausen (1961–2014).
