history

The main name Raimund was common in the family . It is first documented in the middle of the 9th century and its main line died out in 1271 .

In addition to the county of Toulouse , the Languedoc ( Septimania , with the Duchy of Narbonne and the county of Melgueil ), the march county of Provence , Rouergue and Gévaudan belonged to their territory . In addition, they owned the county of Tripoli in what is now Lebanon during the Crusades . Other areas were (temporarily) owned by suspected branch lines of the family ( Vice-County Comborn , Vice-County Turenne , Vice-County Ventadour , Vice-County Limoges ).

The still existing Counts de Toulouse-Lautrec , to which Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec belonged, come from the male line of the de Lautrec family . This can be traced back to an Aton missus comitis et vicarius in the year en 898. Sicard VI., Vicomte de Lautrec († 1158), was, according to new research, probably a son of Frotard III., Seigneur et vicomte de Lautrec . Alexandre de Lautrec (1633–1699), Seigneur de Geynes, younger son of Bernard de Lautrec, Seigneur de Monfa, however, took the name de Toulouse-Lautrec because he claimed that Sicard VI. de Lautrec was a son of Baldwin of Toulouse (1165-1214) from the line Saint-Gilles and his wife Alix de Lautrec.
