The tour of the Indian national cricket team against Pakistan in the season 1997 took place from 13 to 21 September 1997 in Canada . The international cricket tour was part of the 1997 international cricket season and included five ODIs . India won the series 4–1.

prehistory

India previously played a tour in Sri Lanka , Pakistan the Asia Cup in 1997 . The two teams had already competed in a comparable series in Canada the year before .

In the game there was an incident in which the Pakistani player Inzamam-ul-Haq went into the stands to silence a spectator who had insulted him via megaphone.
