Kubova Huť (German Kubohütten ) is a municipality in South Bohemia in the Prachatice district . The village, located on a mountain saddle, borders the Boubínský prales primeval forest reserve.
history
In 1728 the Bohemian glassmaker Johann Podschneider built his glassworks on the site of the present day place. In 1899 the place received a railway connection with the establishment of the local railway from Winterberg to Wallern. Until the middle of the 20th century, Kubohütten was a district of Obermoldau . In 1945/46 the German residents were driven from their homeland and expropriated without compensation.

Green spaces and recreation
To the east of the place in the middle of the Bohemian Forest lies the 1362 m high Boubín with a protected jungle. The 1146 m high Obrovec rises in the west of the valley. At Světlá hora (1123 m) to the north, the Wolfstein reminds us that the last wolf in the Bohemian Forest was killed here on December 2nd, 1874.
