history
In 1721, Prince Franz Adam zu Schwarzenberg built a hunting lodge at the confluence of the source streams of the Vltava . From 1750 the rulership of Winterberg settled in the valley. In Ferchenhaid, which consisted of 26 houses in 1855, 230 people lived at that time.
In the 19th century, three sawmills, a grinding and a hammer mill were built in the mountain village. Another important company was the Eibner match factory. Ferchenhaid was parish in the parish church of St. Martin in the neighboring village of Neugebäu.
After the end of the Second World War and the associated expulsion of German-speaking residents, entire villages in the Bohemian Forest such as Knížecí Pláně were dissolved from 1950, whose corridors came to Borová Lada. Under communist rule, both the St. Martin's Church in Nový Svět and the forest chapel in Borová Lada fell victim to the demolition.
