Lužice (German Luschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 20 kilometers northwest of the city center of České Budějovice and belongs to the Okres Prachatice .
geography
Lužice is located north of Blanský les on a plateau on the right side of Netolický potok . The Lužický potok rises to the east of the village.
Neighboring towns are Netolice in the north, Hlodačky in the north-east, Babice in the east, Chvalovice in the south-east, Dolní Chrášťany in the south, Hrbov in the south-west, Ovčín and Grejnarov in the west and Peklo in the north-west.
history
The first written mention of the village took place in 1210 under the name Hoid . Later the village was also called Merica .
