history

Tvrzice was founded in 1315 by Queen Elisabeth . In 1490 Wilhelm von Pernstein acquired the village and added it to his dominion in Frauenburg . In 1595 Jindřich Chřepický von Modlíškovice bought the village. He had a Renaissance fortress built as his seat on the western edge of the village. The farmyard surrounding the fortress was transformed into a baroque manor by the Chřepický family in the 17th century. In 1667 Wybor Wenzeslaw Chřepický von Modlíškovice sold the estate to Karl Leopold Count Caretto von Milessimo, who attached it to his lordship of Birken . The fortress lost its importance as a manor and fell into disrepair. In 1676 Caretto sold the allodial estate Twrzyce together with the rule Wällischbirken to Matthias Freiherr von Wunschwitz, who in 1680 sold the property to Gundakar von Dietrichstein . He was able to acquire other goods and had them combined into an entails commission by Emperor Leopold I in 1689 . Fideikommiss fell to his nephew Ferdinand Joseph von Dietrichstein in 1690 and then remained in the possession of the imperial princes of Dietrichstein . At the end of the 17th century, the Dietrichsteiners let the festivities on the Meierhof drag. The last feudal landlord was Franz Joseph von Dietrichstein-Proskau-Leslie from 1808 . In 1840 Twrsitz / Twrsyce consisted of 21 houses with 173 inhabitants. In the village there was a farm, a sheep farm and an inn. Parish was Předslawitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to the entails rule Wällischbirken.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Tvrsice / Twrsitz 1850 with the hamlet of Bohunice a municipality in the district administration Strakonice and the judicial district Volyně . In 1878 Újezdec was reassigned from Nakvasovice to Tvrsice . At the end of the 19th century Tvršice was used as a place name, since the beginning of the 20th century the name form Tvrzice has been in use. In 1930 Bohunice and Újezdec broke up and formed their own communities. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Prachatice. In 1964, Bohunice and Újezdec were incorporated again. After a referendum, both districts broke away from Tvrzice on November 24, 1990.
