history
As early as 942, subjects of the Bohemian Prince Boleslav I are said to have searched for gold in the area. The first written message comes from the year 1291 , when Heinrich Vok von Borek and Husinec (Jindřich Vok z Borku a Husince) represented his interests at the regional court. In 1359 the village was elevated to a town. A castle was built in the 14th century, the ruins of which can still be seen today. During this period the city's most famous son, Jan Hus , who went down in history as a reformer and Czech national hero, was born.
In 1390 Hus Castle went to Sigismund von Huller and Orlik (Sigmund Huller z Orlíka), a follower of King Wenceslaus IV and later chamberlain and councilor. However, since he forged documents, he was beheaded. The castle was given to his brother Andreas, who a short time later sold it to the knight Nikolaus von Husinec ( Mikuláš z Husi a Pístného ). A gathering of Hus supporters took place at this castle in 1419, in which the overthrow of King Wenceslas was to be prepared, which then did not take place. In 1420 Nicholas fell from his horse and died. The abandoned castle went to the robber baron Habart z Hrádku , also known as Lopata z Budějovic, who robbed traders on the Golden Path, a passing trade route that mostly transported salt, expensive cloths, wine, seafood, tropical fruits, spices, iron and weapons . On September 8, 1441, the surrounding towns and lords united, raided the castle and burned it down. In 1455 knight Smílek ze Lnář sold the rule to Ulrich II von Rosenberg , who added it to the rule of the Winterbergs .
In 1601 the von Kolowrat family acquired the town, in 1630 Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg . After the Battle of the White Mountain , many of the residents of Husinec left the community out of respect for the reformer Jan Hus and his teaching and emigrated abroad.
In 1655 Husinec fell to the Schwarzenbergs until 1848 , after which the yoke was lifted. At that time around 1173 inhabitants lived in the village, the number of which grew to 1731 by 1886. In 1931 there were 1189 citizens, in 1938 1800. In 1945 Husinec was liberated by the American army. Husinec has been a city since April 12, 2007.
