history

Mičovice was founded in the first half of the 14th century on the property of the Sancta Corona Monastery . The village was first mentioned in documents in 1400. The inhabitants of the place lived from agriculture, forest work or were involved in handicrafts. The districts of Frantoly and Klenovice were populated by Germans. During the Thirty Years War , Mičovice was plundered and badly damaged. The village school was built in 1886 and closed in 1985. The municipality was occupied by the Germans as a result of the Munich Agreement before all districts, with the exception of Frantoly and Klenovice, were returned to the Czechs. The border between the German Empire and the Czech Republic temporarily ran through the town before the rest of the municipality fell to the Germans after the rest of the Czech Republic was broken up . At the beginning of May 1945, shortly before the end of World War II , the US Army reached the village. On May 7th, shortly before midnight, soldiers of the B Company, 387th Infantry Regiment of the 97th US Infantry Division fought a gun battle with soldiers of the Wehrmacht in a wooded area near Klenovice. After the end of the war, the US troops were housed in the village schools of Mičovice and Frantoly before they evacuated the area and handed it over to the Red Army . As a result of the Beneš decrees , the German residents of the community were expelled; In their place came Czechs, Slovaks and Romanians.

On June 28, 2007 the municipality received the municipal coat of arms from the parliament.
