Lawrence Brock

Lawrence Brock (born August 16, 1906 in Columbus , Nebraska , † August 28, 1968 in Zion , Illinois ) was an American politician . Between 1959 and 1961 he represented the third constituency of the state of Nebraska in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Lawrence Brock attended Leigh High School and then the University of Nebraska , where he studied pharmacy until 1929. After graduating, he worked as a pharmacist in Madison . He was also a rancher and farmer. Brock became a member of several ranchers associations and the association that dealt with the electrification of rural areas in northeast Nebraska. He was also a member of a team of advisors on the Autobahn Committee.

Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party , whose Democratic National Convention he attended as a delegate in 1956. 1958 Brock was elected to the US House of Representatives in the third district of Nebraska, where he succeeded Robert Dinsmore Harrison on January 3, 1958 . After he was not re-elected in the subsequent elections in 1960, Brock could only serve one term in Congress until January 3, 1961 . After his tenure in Congress was over, he was employed by the Farmers Home Administration in Washington .
