C. Frank Reavis

Charles Frank Reavis (born September 5, 1870 in Falls City , Nebraska , † May 26, 1932 in Lincoln , Nebraska) was an American politician . Between 1915 and 1922 he represented the first constituency of the state of Nebraska in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frank Reavis attended the common schools and then the Northwestern University in Evanston ( Illinois ). After studying law and his admission as a lawyer in 1892, he began to work in Falls City in his new profession.

Reavis became a member of the Republican Party . Between 1894 and 1896 he was a District Attorney in Richardson County . In the 1914 congressional elections, he was elected to the US House of Representatives. There he replaced the Democrat John A. Maguire on March 4, 1915 , whom he had defeated in the election. After a few re-elections, he remained in Congress until his resignation on June 3, 1922 .

After his time in Congress, Reavis was appointed special prosecutor of the federal government in June 1922. His job was to bring charges of war-related fraud. He held this office until June 1, 1924. He then moved to Lincoln, where he worked as a lawyer. C. Frank Reavis died in this city on May 26, 1932.
