Moses P. Kinkaid

Moses Pierce Kinkaid (born January 24, 1856 in Morgantown , Monongalia County , Virginia ( today: West Virginia ), † July 6, 1922 in Washington, DC ) was an American politician .

Kinkaid studied at the University of Michigan Law Department at Ann Arbor . In 1876 he took his degree there, was admitted to the legal profession in the same year and practiced from 1876 to 1880 in Henry County in Illinois , and from 1880 to 1881 in Pierre ( South Dakota ). Kinkaid then moved to Nebraska , where he settled in the town of O'Neill and continued to practice as a lawyer. In 1883, Kinkaid was a member of the Nebraska Senate . From 1887 to 1900 he was a district judge .

In 1902, Kinkaid was elected to Congress as a Republican . He had run for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in the congressional elections in 1900 , but at that time without success. Now Kinkaid represented the state of Nebraska in the House of Representatives from March 4, 1903 until his death on July 6, 1922 in Washington. He was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery , O'Neill.
