Ralph F. Beermann

Ralph Frederick Beermann (born August 13, 1912 in Dakota City , Nebraska , † February 17, 1977 in Sioux City , Iowa ) was an American politician . Between 1961 and 1963 he represented the third and from 1963 to 1965 the first constituency of the state of Nebraska in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Ralph Beermann attended public schools in his home country and Morningside College in Sioux City. He then became a member of the US Army , where he initially completed some special training. During the Second World War he was deployed in North Africa and Europe. After the war, he and his six brothers ran a farm in Dakota County , Nebraska. The brothers were also in the rancher business.

Beermann became a member of the Republican Party . He was party chairman in Dakota County for ten years. He also founded the Republican youth organization in this district. In 1960 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in the third constituency of Nebraska, where he replaced Lawrence Brock on January 3, 1961 . In the following elections in 1962, Beermann ran in the first constituency, where he was elected to succeed Phillip Hart Weaver . Overall, Ralph Beermann was able to complete two legislative periods in Congress by January 3, 1965 . In 1964 he was not re-elected.

After his time in Congress ended, Beermann returned to his private business in Nebraska. From 1972 to 1977 he was a board member of the Nebraska Public Power District . He died in a plane crash in Sioux City in February 1977 and was buried in Dakota City.
